Dental Exam

When you visit our Jenkintown office, a dental exam is much more than just ‘routine’. Of course, you will receive a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and check for signs of tooth decay, but Dr. Vasilyev will also provide a comprehensive evaluation to look for:

  • – restorative options for missing teeth
  • – oral cancer
  • – gum disease
  • – TMJ (jaw) problems
  • and much more

Teeth Cleaning

A prophylaxis (professional teeth cleaning) is a routine procedure performed by a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to clean the teeth by removing deposits such as:

  • – plaque (bacteria)
  • – calculus (tartar)
  • and stains

Oral hygiene instruction will be taught to help maintain your oral health. Regular preventive maintenance of this type, along with a thorough home care regimen, will help ensure good oral health.

X-Rays

During your new patient visit, our doctors will provide you with the highest quality of care using the latest technology in x-rays and imaging. We use these to look inside your jaw and bone structure to diagnose problems that would otherwise remain hidden. As well as providing one of the highest quality images, X-rays also reduce the amount of radiation exposure by upwards of 90 percent when compared to a traditional
X-ray systems.

Most Common Questions

Why should I keep up with my oral health and general dentistry?

Keeping up with your oral health with general dentistry can save you a lot of time, stress, and pain down the road.

General dentistry is a giant selection of services meant to maximize your oral health and keep your smile shining bright for years to come. General dentistry includes both preventative services like cleanings and reactive procedures like root canals.

Why Should You Consider Cosmetic Dentistry?

Your smile is something you wear daily. You only have one, so you want your smile to look as good as it can be.

Cosmetic dentistry addresses all sorts of issues that mess with how your teeth look:

– Discoloration
– Cavities
– Chipped teeth
– Other tooth damage
– Crooked teeth
– Gaps in teeth

You’ll not only make your smile look great by fixing these issues, but you’ll also be keeping your actual oral health in tip-top shape.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are mostly a set of replacement teeth that can be removed and placed back into your mouth whenever you need them. Now, they won’t feel exactly like your old teeth, but dentures have come a long way. Today’s dentures are quite close to the look and feel of your natural teeth, and they’re only getting better.

What is Zoom Whitening?

Zoom Whitening is a procedure used to brighten discolored teeth and restore a bright, shiny smile. It uses a patented whitening gel to restore the whiteness to your teeth.

Zoom Whitening do-it-yourself kits exist as well. However, it’s naturally a little more challenging to do it yourself, so visiting a dentist might be the best choice for more severe cases of discoloration.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants consist of a screw, a crown that looks like a real tooth, and a connector piece called an abutment that brings the screw and crown together.

They’re permanent implants that are meant to mimic the appearance of your actual tooth so that no one would know the difference.

What is a Root Canal?

A root canal treatment is a procedure sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. In other words, this treatment is used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected.

During a root canal, the surgeon removes the tooth’s nerves and pulp (the critical inner parts of the tooth containing blood vessels and connective tissue), and then cleans the wound and seals it back up.

Testimonials

"The doctor here recommended I get a local anesthetic for a regular cleaning. Seemed kinda sketchy but I my insurance was paying. They went at my teeth for like an hour and a half, so I'm glad i did it. When I saw my teeth the next day I felt pretty ashamed having my morning cigarette and coffee. I'm sure I'll be back."

Oleg Fedorenko

"I am a long-time patient of Dr.Vasilyev. I traveled from New York to his office. I met a woman who had come all the way from Cleveland in the waiting room. I guess I am not so crazy."

Vadim Fedorenko

"I want to say a big thank you to dr. Vasileye for removing my daughter's two wisdom teeth! You were patient and reassuring I know it meant a lot to her."

Juan Pichardo

"My son's idiot friend knocked out a chunk of his front tooth with a rock (don't let your kids play around railroad tracks). To my surprise, a filling was all it took to fix him! I expected worse. I'm very grateful to Dr. Vasilyev for his excellent care."

Genrico Danger

“Everyone is very professional, nice, and caring. After 50+ years, I’m finally not afraid to go to the dentist!”
